Justice is not done when one only says the teachings of the Last Prophet, Muhammad (may Allah bless and greet him) are relevant today. For full justice, the word “relevant” has to be substituted with words or expressions like “essential” or “inevitable” or “a must”.
For further appreciation of this Muslim claim, just cast a cursory glance at our own country, Bharat.
Whatever it be, it is not character. It is caste, wealth, connections, ability to manipulate and win at the end of the day, by hook or by crook or both. In Islam, it is piety or God-fearingness. Just think of a situation in which Indian voter votes those parties or persons to power, who have character, those who have no lose morals and are known in the society for their principles and character.
A good politician, the truth is, one who starts from zero and ends up at crores. Ms Mayawati and Ms Jayalalitha are a few cases in point. Politics is also an instrument to gain and retain power through whatever means possible. Mr. Narendra Modi and Mr. Bal Thackeray and his nephew are some of the cases in point. In Islam, power is a trust of Allah. It has to be used for wiping tears from each and every eye.
The corporates are ever-expanding and multiplying their wealth, leaving little room for the small players. It is the big ones who open the markets and determine prices. Islam teaches to take profit equal to salt in the food. It slams the doors of usury and interest which transform the poor into the poorer and the rich into the richer.
Somewhere in our country a woman is sold. She is safe neither in her home nor in her office nor on the street. Even foreign guests are raped at tourist spots.
First every effort is made to prevent the birth of the female child, so much so that Haryana now “imports” brides from Orissa. Somewhere, boys fall a prey to the gays who are now bold enough to run their own periodicals. Islam not only stipulates to treat the children affectionately but also prohibits and bars female foeticide. Strictest possible punishments are there to discourage what they call paedophilia.
6) Some of our littoral states fear us because of our size and might in the realm military, navy and air. That we are now a nuclear power sends a chill down their spine. This fear tells upon the regional poise and equilibrium.
At the level of society, the western model is overtaking us gradually. Neighbours do not know each other or pretend to be so for the practical purposes. ‘
The cardinal principle of Bharat’s diplomacy is amorality, or in other words, complete neutrality between the aggressor and the aggressed. This was New Delhi’s attitude during the Iran-Iraq war and later on US aggression on Iraq Afghanistan.
The fascist forces have, on the other hand, been in battle dress. The victims, therefore, could not find sufficient strength to tell the aggressor whatever you are doing is tantamount to killing your own glorious future.
Presentation of Islam in Bharat is a stupendous task. Bias and prejudice do not allow our brethren belonging to the majority community to be objective. But Muslims have to do it for the ultimate good of the country. It is a patience trying and nerve-wrecking task. But it has to be done as the basic duty of the Khair-e-Ummah
Socialism is not germane to Bharat. Otherwise how would you explain the remarkable strides of the country towards capitalism or the never-ending suicides of the farmers.
If Muslims do their duty, they would save the country and themselves. If they fail in it, India will fail.
