SILLOD TALUKA OF AURANGABAD FACES COMMUNAL VIOLENCE
 
Hindu-Muslim riots flared up after Friday prayers on April 18 in Bharadi village, Taluka Sillod of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. Incidents of destruction of properties, including setting shops on fire took place. 3 PERSONS ARRESTED IN MALEGAON
 
Malegaon Police conducted a raid on a Pathology Laboratory which is situated in a basement of a private hospital, and recovered revolver, RDX and fake currency notes of one thousand rupees. They have arrested three persons who were committing crimes for unknown organisations, reported Urdu Times on April 18.

BAN BAJRANG DAL LIKE SIMI: DIGVIJAY SINGH
 

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on April 23 demanded that Hindu extremist organisation Bajrang Dal should also be banned like SIMI. Talking to pressmen at Indore, Singh alleged that Bajrang Dal and its affiliate organisations make bombs and give bomb-making training to their cadres. GOVT SAYS NO TO MOVE FOR STRICTER SATI LAW
 
The United Progressive Alliance government has dropped attempts to strengthen the anti-Sati law, more than 20 years after it was first enacted. The amendments to the Commission of Sati (Prevention) Act, 1987, had met with resistance in the Cabinet over some clauses. Renowned Islamic scholar and Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, has launched his personal website. The website www.jalaluddinumari.com, which will be available in both Urdu and English, was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Dr Shakil Ahmed in the weekly programme at JIH headquarters in New Delhi on April 19.
