The arrest of four activists of Hindutva brigade for their alleged involvement in the recent bomb blast at Thane (Maharashtra) has brought to the fore once again the terrorist activities of the Hindutva extremist groups. In April 1996 bomb blasts had taken place accidentally in the residence of a Bajrang Dal activist in Nanded while the terrorists were busy making bombs. The police had also found fake beards, pathani dresses, fake identity cards with Muslim names during the search.
Now Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, in his mouthpiece Saamna, has openly applauded and patted the back of these Hindutva terrorist groups for executing the bomb blasts at Thane, and has also appealed to the likes of them to carry out more such terror acts. With so much of circumstantial evidences available with the police and the intelligence agencies against the Sangh Parivar, the law and order machinery has turned a blind eye and has done nothing in this direction. The cursor always moves only towards the Muslims who are detained on mere suspicion. The involvement of the Sangh Parivar activists has been deliberately ruled out in the Mumbai train blasts, the Makkah Masjid blasts in Hyderabad, Malegaon blasts, and the recent Jaipur blasts. The media has also forgotten its ethics of sensible and responsible reporting and unearthing the truth, and has instead resorted to mere speculation game of naming the Muslims. A fair and unbiased probe into all these terror blasts should be undertaken to bring the ugly faces before the nation and disclose the identity of all those forces which are hell bent upon sowing the seeds of hatred in our age-old traditions of unity and diversity.
