MNS CORPORATOR, FIVE OTHERS ARRESTED FOR VANDALISM

The Kothrud police on October 26 arrested Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Corporator Rajendra Keshav Gorade, alias Rajabhau Gorade, for vandalism. The incident occurred when MNS chief Raj Thackeray was arrested after north Indian students were beaten up by MNS members during the railway recruitment board exams recently. Gorade was arrested along with five others – Nagesh Dhamale, Sushant Chapekar, Shridhar Khangre, Vaibhav Tagude and Dayanand Gaikwad. The accused have been charged under sections 435, 427, 34 and 109 of the IPC. They were produced in the court on Sunday and have been sent to police custody for one day. Gorade and his men were involved in the destruction of public property including buses in Kothrud.
