PASWAN DEMANDS JUDICIAL PROBE INTO KILLING OF PWD ENGINEER

Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on 24 December demanded a judicial inquiry into the killing of an Uttar Pradesh PWD Executive Engineer M K Gupta allegedly by a sitting BSP MLAand two of his supporters. Taking strong exception Mr. Paswan remarked "already Mayawati's birthday is known as 'Arthik Sahayata Diwas', so her followers indulging in such kind of activities come as no surprise". M.K Gupta was beaten to death when he refused to pay a "huge sum" for birthday celebrations of Chief Minister Mayawati next month, a charge strongly denied by the Mayawati and her government.
