In times of crisis, most Arabs tune in to Al-Jazeera television. Sometimes it’s comforting for the truth to be stated the way it is, with all of its gory and unsettling details, without blemishes and without censorship. When Israel carried out massive air strikes against Gaza on Saturday, December 27, terrorising an already hostage and malnourished population, I too tuned in to Al-Jazeera.
Within seconds I learned of the tally: 290 deaths and climbing, w... |

| Gaza: We Are All Guilty |
By: AIJAZ ZAKA SYED
|

|
Just when you think the Palestinians have suffered enough and nothing more can test their fortitude, trust Israel to come up with more ingenious ways of winning hearts and minds.
Just look at the shock and awe of the Gaza offensive. What perfect timing and what a surprise to spring on a fatigued and famished people. A perfect Christmas present from Israel when the whole world is either away on holiday or in a general celebratory mood to ring in the New Year. The weather is great... |

| Pirates of the Mediterranean |
By: YVONNE RIDLEY
|
| |
|
Not content with committing war crimes and human rights atrocities in full view of the world, Israel has now confirmed itself as a rogue state by launching into international piracy. Barely had dawn broke over the Mediterranean waters in which the SS Dignity was sailing when an Israeli naval gunboat rammed the aid-bearing ship. The act of aggression on a peace mission was launched in international waters 90 miles off Gaza, without any warning to the captain of the Dignity or the crew. ... |

By: SOROOR AHMED
|
| |
Ever since Barack Husain Obama won the election of the ‘melting’ – no more melting pot as it is often known – United States there has been fear that its policy would shift from Iraq towards Iran and Palestine as the Blacks, the Jews and other minorities often form the backbone of the Democrats. This notwithstanding the fact that on the individual level many Black Americans do support the cause of Arabs. So the attack on Gaza, which left more than 500 killed is a natu... |

The Muslim Council of Britain on January 4 welcomed the Prime Minister’s call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, but urges for a clear condemnation of Israel’s murderous assault on the people of Gaza, which has now entered a new phase. So far over 500 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of lethal Israeli munitions. | Muslim Leaders, Bodies Slam Israel's Attack on Gaza |
|
A number of Muslim leaders and organisations in India have condemned the Israeli air strikes on Gaza. The renewed attacks have so far claimed about 500 innocent lives. President Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind Maulana Arshad Madani strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on the unarmed Palestinians in Gaza. He termed it as “state terrorism” of Israel. Expressed concern over the ever increasing Israel’s aggressions, he demanded from the Indian government to immediately scrap all diploma... |
