EGYPT REFUSES BRITISH AID CONVOY

After a journey that began on February 14, the largest British convoy finally arrived to its final border passage bringing humanitarian aid to besieged Gaza. Egyptian authorities refused the introduction of the convoy for Gaza. For his part the Minister of Social Affairs in the government of Gaza, Dr. Ahmed Kurd, confirmed at a press conference that the convoy included British Parliamentarian George Galloway. He, and other officials, held talks with the Egyptian authorities imploring them to allow the entrance of critically needed medicine, food and blankets. But the negotiations failed. Galloway began the journey three weeks ago, facing difficult odds in hopes of brining some relief to the Gaza Strip. Galloway and the convoy began from London, travelled through France and Spain to Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and arrived in Libya. They then flew to the Al Arish airport near the crossing to Rafah.
