Firoze Varun Gandhi has said nothing new. He has just repeated what most BJP leaders have been publicly stating. Among others he is being pilloried and denounced by the likes of Shahnawaz Husain and other bigwigs within the BJP simply because he is a young man having family connection with Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi and with little political standing of his own. VHP's Letter to Muslim Indians

DR. MOOKHI AMIR ALI says that the interest of the country demands that outfits like VHP should not further deepen the communal divide by making irrational demands.
 
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad in a letter to 13 Muslim bodies demanded that Indian Muslim clergy declares that Hindus are not kafirs and therefore jihad does not apply to them. Also that India is Dar ul Aman and therefore no jihad should be waged against it.
