MUSLIMS ARE RIGHTFUL OWNERS OF WAKF PROPERTIES
 
The Wakf properties are meant exclusively for Muslims. After the publication of the report of Central Parliamentary Committee now it is the responsibility of the government to remove illegal encroachments from the Wakf properties. JAMIA MASJID IN UDUPI ATTACKED, QURAN DESECRATED
 

Some anti-social and communal elements on March 16 allegedly attacked the Jamia Masjid in Bendur, Udupi. More than a century old Jamia Masjid is the hallmark of the area. According to the reports, a group of some eight to 10 criminals allegedly barged into the Medical Jamia Mosque and indulged into widespread destruction and looting. JAMIAT ULEMA DEMANDS PROBE INTO RAHATGARH INCIDENT
 
A delegation of Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind (JUH), Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of the Chairman Congress Minorities Cell and General Secretary JUH Haji Mohammad Haroon Advocate called on the Governor Balram Jhakar on March 13 and demanded a judicial probe into the Rahatgarh incident. COMMUNAL FLARE UP IN NANDED
 
According to the reports people allegedly belonging to Hindutva communal outfits such as RSS, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena etc are distributing CDs entitled ‘Banyengay Mandir’ in Nanded. These CDs are based on some Hindi film songs and music. These songs are played back in with scenes depicting Hindu religious ceremonies. ALL ACCUSE IN NANDED RIOTS GET BAIL
 
All of the accused arrested in connection with the recent Nanded riots have been released after a Mumbai Court granted them bail on March 17. The accused were reportedly produced before the local court of magistrate N B Ghosh who granted them bail on a personal bond of Rs 7,500 each.

Prof. M. Shamim Jairajpuri, INSA Senior Scientist, Aligarh Muslim University and former Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University has been appointed Chairman of the High Power Appeals Committee of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
