2 MOSQUES DESECRATED IN PUTTUR

In an obvious attempt to disturb the communal harmony, some unidentified miscreants desecrated two mosques in Puttur on Monday July 27. The miscreants had attempted to throw pork pieces throw pork pieces into the Salmar Masjid mosque near Puttur APMC through a window. As they did not succeed, they had left them there only. In Mohammadiya Namaz mosque in front of Bushra tower near Darbe, which is about one and a half km from Salmar Masjid, pieces were found inside as there was no gate for the building. The incident came to light when a few members of the community had come for prayer in the morning. The mosques were cleaned after police visited the spot.  SP Dr A S Rao, who visited the spot, said, “Miscreants had tried to incite communal trouble. A special investigation team has been formed to nab those behind the incident. We are also checking the vehicles.”
