“May Allah curse him who does that Lut’s people did.”
(Ibn Hibban)
Since Islam totally rejects homosexuality, the Holy Messenger (may Allah bless and greet him) had been very much explicit in dealing with the persons involved in this abominable act. This act is so much abominable and reprehensible that the Holy Messenger (may Allah bless and greet him) said, “When a man mounts another man, the throne of God shakes.” That is why, in very clear and unambiguous terms, the Holy Messenger cursed the homosexuals. This was in the greater interest of the moral health of society that the Mercy to Mankind cursed these maniacs.
In another hadith related by Ibn Abbaas the Holy Messenger (may Allah bless and greet him) said: “... cursed is the one who has intercourse with an animal, cursed is the one who does the action of the people of Lut.”
In yet another hadith reported in Tirmidhi, the Holy Messenger (may Allah bless and greet him) prescribed death penalty for the doer of this crime. He said: “Kill the one who sodomises and the one who lets it be done to him.”
Homosexuality is an abominable act, detestable and thus condemnable. It leaves very ill effect not only on the family and society concerned but also on the persons involved. It is a disease, a psychological and mental disorder; hence the patients stand in great need of medical treatment. A man or a woman with homosexual feelings should fear God and behave like any other human being. He/she shall resist his/her feelings, maintain abstinence, use all available resources of help including medical, social, and behavioural therapies to overcome their behaviour and feelings. He/she should also pray to God to help them getting over it.
