Rochdale based Muslim campaigning group Ramadhan Foundation has announced the date for its second International Muslim Unity Convention. The event, which brings together the world’s renowned Muslim scholars, thinkers, economists and politicians will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia between December 15-16, 2009. The first convention was held to a packed audience in Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall four years ago but organisers say their second event will be much bigger and better. Malaysian Prime Minister HE Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak has also agreed to open the convention.

Chairman of the Ramadhan Foundation Muhammad Umar said, “We are bringing together the world’s most renowned scholars, politicians, leaders, thinkers and opinion formers to discuss and set out the vision for Muslim unity in the 21st Century. “We send an open invite to the world to come to the great city of the world to witness history in the making, Muslims can unite and will unite in Kuala Lumpur.” Over the next few weeks organisers will announce the line-up of speakers and there biographies on the official convention website: www.internationalmuslimunity.com
