Nationwide debate on philosophy of education is need of the hour and SIO has initiated it in Indian student community, Said Suhail K.K, National President, SIO of India while addressing a press conference in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Hundreds of programmes are being held throughout the country especially in universities. A state level seminar on ‘Philosophy of education and knowledge’ was organised in North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.
Debates held are on the fee structure, textbook or on infrastructural facilities of universities. SIO believes that the very foundation on which the education system has been built need to be put to re-thinking. The whole societal structure has been built on the philosophy of secular modernity. And so is education system. This is the core of all present crises in the society. Suhail said education must rightly define the relationship between man-God Almighty, man-man and man-environment. This will give rise to an educational system which will lead to a balanced spiritual, moral, social, intellectual and physical development of a generation.
The aim of present education is just to attain jobs and gain a lot of money. This education system has thus created a generation which can be called homo-economics. The real education is one by which culture is progressively instilled in man.
