On the other hand the Centre is considering to set up special courts to ensure speedy trials of terror suspects from Azamgarh in the backdrop of a demand made by Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh. Singh met Home Minister P. Chidambaram and raised concerns about over the issue. The Congress leader, accompanied by fathers of the two accused in the encounter who are on the run, met the Home Minister to demand speedy trial in 26 cases against terror suspects from Azamgarh. “We may consider setting up of special courts in different states for speedy trials,” a senior home ministry official said. The Home Minister assured the delegation that he would seek legal opinion on the matter from the Law Ministry and will take a decision after that, the sources said.
