Pre-marital Sex Condemnable

The Supreme Court’s observation on actress Khushboo’s petition that as per Indian laws pre-marital sex and live-in relations are not criminal offence is deplorable. The Tamil actress is rightly accused of corrupting young minds by promoting pre-marital sex. These are the ways of Europe and America which have destroyed the sacred institution of marriage which needs to be upheld and protected. Human beings are not animals.

The Apex Court’s observation is irreligious, immoral and unethical. It would shatter family system and would do a lot of harm to the society. A vast majority of Indians, irrespective of caste and creed, are opposing it. The Union Government should amend the law and make it a criminal offence.
