BMW-3 Fatal in Delhi Again

Readers Pulse

It refers to yet another fatal killing again by a BMW car in Delhi. Despite repeated fatal killings by rich youngsters driving cars in Delhi, Union Government has not taken any concrete steps to check such fatal car-accidents. Since Indian roads are not suited to bear extra-high speeds, extra-powerful engines capable to have speed say more than 120 kmph should not be allowed. There should be compulsory in-built speed-checkers in vehicles by manufacturers to have a maximum upper speed-limit of 120 kmph.
In addition, Union and state governments should double excise duty, VAT and road-taxes etc on cars with a price-tag exceeding say rupees five lakhs ex-factory price to practically discourage use of big and powerful cars like BMW.
