Corruption in CWG

It is shocking and surprising that despite so much irregularities and corruption highlighted in media towards forthcoming Commonwealth Games 2010 (CWG) as also endorsed by Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), no instant arrest could be made in this regard. Organising Committee for Commonwealth Games 2010 went on resisting itself from being counted under RTI Act. Otherwise scandals and scams being exposed now would have been exposed much earlier to set the things right at some earlier stage.

Corruption in India is multiplying despite best efforts of an honest Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Only a fear psychology developed through stringent penalties right up to death sentence can prevent ever-rising corruption. Monetary amounts involved in scams and scandals may be basis for punishments like death sentence, life imprisonment and other subsequent lower jail sentences apart from confiscating properties of corrupt persons. Example should be set by immediate fixing of responsibility of corrupt deeds in CWG and arrest of high profile persons involved in the big scam.
