CAIR ASKS AMERICANS TO SUPPORT FREEDOM IN EGYPT, MUSLIM WORLD
 
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on January 28 called on all people of conscience to contact their elected representatives to ask that they support freedom, democracy and the rule of law in Egypt and throughout the Muslim world. CAIR’s call comes as protesters seeking governmental reforms are clashing with security personnel throughout Egypt. JURY AWARDS $1.7M TO FAMILY OF CALIF. MUSLIM KILLED BY POLICE
 
The Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) on January 27 announced that a federal jury awarded $1.7 million to the family of a 21-year-old autistic Muslim man for his fatal shooting by a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer in 2008. NAJRAN UNIVERSITY TO GET SR200M POWER STATION
 

Najran University has started a SR200 million project to meet the growing need for electricity inside its campus, university officials said on January 31. Founded in the northern city of Najran in 2006, the university sprawls over 18 million square meters and is the country’s largest by area.
