JAMIAT-E-ULEMA CONDEMNS BIASED ATTITUDE OF GOVERNMENT

Inside India

The recent Rudrapur killing once again has unveiled the biased and communal nature of the police. Hafiz Furqan, Secretary Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind U.P., said “Rudrapur incident is not a communal riot, it is a police action”. He said Muslims have been butchered by the police and the police brutality is now being named as a Hindu-Muslim riot. Hafiz Furqan said the desecration of the holy Qur’ān had been taking place in the past and the local Muslims complained about it. But recently when the desecration was repeated, Muslims protested and the police opened fire at the Muslims and killed them in cold blood. Hafiz Furqan has demanded the suspension of chief minister and home minister.

The General Secretary of the Jamiat, Maulana Jamaluddin Qasmi said Congress and BJP both are enemies of Muslims and Congress had been backstabbing the Muslims in the past. The Maulana lashed out at the biased attitude of the government and said, “Gujjars destroy railway tracks for a week, Shiv Sainiks create ruckus in the city, Jats vandalise the government offices, but no one says or speaks up against them, but if Muslims demand justice or do mild slogan raising, they are treated with bullets.” The Maulana demanded stern actions against the guilty police officers.
