Kaira Social Service Society, a well-known NGO of Gujarat celebrates Human Dignity Day on Feb. 28 every year. The Society gives Human Dignity Award to a person or NGO that works for peace, human dignity and justice on this day every year.
Muhammad Shafi Madni, former president Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Gujarat and ex-chairman Islami Relief Committee, Gujarat was honoured with Human Dignity Award 2012 with a memento, a certificate, and a cheque for his commitment and sacrifice for peace, justice, human rights, communal harmony, relief and rehabilitation of the needy the Bhuj earthquake and Gujarat riots, etc. irrespective of cast or creed. It is very significant that the KSSS has recognised his dedicated services to the nation especially to the poor and marginalised.
The award was given by Sandip Kumar Sangle (I.A.S), Collector Kheda Distirict in the presence of Bishop Thomas Meckwan and representatives of different NGOs, famous social workers of Gujarat on Feb. 28 at Town Hall, Nadiad city.
Speaking on this occasion, Muhammad Shafi Madni said the real award winner is Jamaat-e-Islami, which gave him training and programme for rendering service to mankind. He also expressed thanks to Allah for His continued help and guidance in this regard, and cited Qur’ānic verses to acknowledge that Allah gave same dignity and power to every human but human makes difference between poor-rich, cast, black-white etc for them personal benefit in this world.
