60% RESIDENTS OF MALEGAON ARE BPL: TISS REPORT
 

As much as 60 per cent of the population of Muslim-dominated Malegaon falls below the poverty line, says a 221-page report by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). CORRUPTION MAJOR ROADBLOCK IN INDIA’S DEVELOPMENT: COURT
 

A Delhi court on Mar 23 observed while punishing six persons, including a bank manager, that corruption was a major roadblock in India’s development. COURT DECREE NOT REQUIRED TO PROVE DIVORCE: HC
 

The Madras High Court Bench ruled that there was no need for a Muslim woman to produce a court decree as a proof of divorce from her husband for the issue of passport for her minor child. “The local jamath has certified the fact of giving talaq (divorce).
