Dual Policy of Government

Readers Pulse

Apropos you editorial “Keep from Silencing the Voice of Reason” (Radiance, 20 April-5 May), I have to say that you have taken a timely notice of Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram’s assertion that Muslims’ protest against illegal arrest of innocent Muslim youth is a “cause of worry” and a “dangerous trend”. This assertion is tantamount to usurping the Muslims’ right to protest. Muslims protest in a peaceful, democratic manner and they are being objected to by no less than a person of the rank of our Union Home Minister. While Hindutva vandals commit anti-national terror acts and the government seems to be going soft to them. This is dual policy of the government. The government should revise its policy on Muslim affairs. This is the only way they can win the confidence of what you call ‘the second largest majority’ in the country.
