CPI(M) member TN Seema has raised justified objection in Raya Sabha to a TV advertisement of a bleaching cream showing graphics of lady’s inner parts in a bad taste. It is a matter of regret that Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting failed to take any action against the advertisers and to get the advertisement banned despite All India Democratic Women’s Association having registered its objection to the ministry.
Union government should not only ban such advertisements of bad taste but also book the advertisers, models and others associated with production and airing such advertisements under various sections relating to obscenity in public so that no one may dare using women for vulgar publicity of their products.
