Bibi Fatima, the wife of Qateel Siddiqui, who was murdered in Yerawada Jail, voiced her opinion that the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had planned Siddiqui’s death. She said that five days prior to the incident, she had contacted the ATS to ask about her husband. She was told that she would get the whereabouts in the next five days. “Fifteen days ago, I had a telephonic communication with Qateel. He informed me that the ATS was torturing him. When I saw the news of my husband’s murder on television, I could visualise the words of the ATS officer who had alerted me five days ago,” said the widow. According to her, the Anti-Terrorism Squad officials had said, “You will come to know of his whereabouts within the next five days.”
