ATTEMPT TO DISRUPT PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE BY OFFERING POOJA

Peepal branches obstructing the extension and construction work of Masjid Roshan situated at Old Kabootar Khana in the city of Hyderabad were cut. Under the pretext of desecrating the piety of the peepal tree some communal-minded miscreants made an attempt to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the city, but due to timely intervention by the police any untoward incident could be averted.

The Mosque Committee started the construction work of three Malgies but the branches of the Peepal trees were obstructing the construction work. After cutting the branches of the tree, the roof was laid. On noticing this, activists of some communal organisations including Mr. Raja Singh, TDP Corporator objected to the construction work and started offering pooja to peepal tree. People from both the groups gathered there but the south zone police came into action and deputed a police picket there. It is reported that some communal elements want to convert the peepal tree into a temple.
