INSINUATING COMMENTS ON PROPHET ON FACEBOOK, FIR REGISTERED IN PARBHANI

Muslims in Parbhani, Maharashtra, met with the District Collector and SP regarding the insinuating comments on the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be to him) and his Holy wives and provocative cartoons that surfaced on Facebook. They demanded the removal of comments and cartoons from the website. The delegation’s meeting with the SP proved positive as the SP immediately directed Inspector Vivek Mudgikar of Nanal Peeth Police Station to register a case against those who are involved in this act. Some of the names of the guilty that have been confirmed from the Facebook are Ishwar Das, Ratan Sinha, Kashi Nath and Shailesh Singhal. A case under Sections 66A, 67 and 295 of Indian Penal Code has been registered. Further investigation is being done by Inspector Vivek Mudgikar. It must be noted that a similar case was registered six months ago, however nothing has been done as of yet.
