In an annual convention on “Globalisation and Communalism” organised by All India Youth Federation Ram Puniyani, a noted writer and human rights activist, likened communalism with a disease which is trying to gulp down the constitutional values of India. Puniyani further said that communalism is one of the most perilous diseases which have come out from the womb of globalisation and RSS today is trying to wipe out the democratic principles from all the departments in the country. “Communalism got strength only recently in the mid 80s where for the first time politics was played over mandir or masjid and the leader who initiated this mandir-masjid politics is Advani, who came out with Rath Yatra which led to spilling of blood,” he added. He blamed the British from putting the foundation stone for communalism and claimed Nationalism, a new concept, which has brought the Indian democracy on the edge.
