Jabalpur, Hyderabad, Bhagalpur, Nellie, Mumbai, Gujarat and now Assam, the list of riots in India is very long. Counting such riots against Muslims is itself a difficult task and who can forget the 1984 riots against the Sikhs. I do not think of any other country with the exception of Israel where minorities have fallen prey to communal riots like those in India. Is it possible for the government to stop riots?
