Jabalpur, Hyderabad, Bhagalpur, Nellie, Mumbai, Gujarat and now Assam, the list of riots in India is very long. Counting such riots against Muslims is itself a difficult task and who can forget the 1984 riots against the Sikhs. I do not think of any other country with the exception of Israel where minorities have fallen prey to communal riots like those in India. Is it possible for the government to stop riots? Will is required to do it.
Riots have mainly taken place in the states ruled by either Congress or the BJP. Both parties are two sides of the same coin. Young Muslims are arrested only on suspicion, tortured, kept in jails for years and then released by courts due to insufficient or no proof. On the other hand, Hindutva terrorists are left unpunished, rather released on bail as happened in the case of Nanded, Mecca Masjid, Hyderabad, Malegaon and other palaces.
