Some miscreants tried to convert the dispute of two students into communal clashes on November 3 at Shibli College in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. They started shouting slogans such as jai shri Ram in the college campus. But the college administration was very quick to put the situation under control.
The eye witnesses say that there was a quarrel on some personal issues between two students – one was from minority community while another belonged to majority. The student belonging to the majority community approached the presidential candidate of Students Union. He polarised the students in the name of religion and later they started shouting slogans. The college administration called an urgent meeting of student leaders and thus the situation has been put under control. However, an FIR has been lodged against six students for their alleged involvement in the incident.
