MORE THAN 50 CASES OF UP ATS ARE UNLAWFUL

Inside India

More than 50 cases of Anti-Terror Squad in Uttar Pradesh are unlawful and would be debarred soon. In response to a letter by Advocate MS Khan, who has claimed that the state ATS had arrested Muslim youth on different charges without making the Governor know of it, BL Joshi, the Governor of UP, said that all the cases which were not incorporated properly by the ATS would be debarred.

Advocate Khan informed the media persons that it is necessary for the ATS to inform the Governor of the state before charging anyone under the terror act. But the UP ATS has never sought permission for this.
