BAN VULGUR TV SERIALS, MOVIES: GIO

Inside India

Mumbai unit of Girls Islamic Organisation of India along with women’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organised a rally in the city and staged dharna to protest against the brutal gang rape in Delhi last month. Addressing the dharna, Ms. Saleha Sadiq Shaikh, city president of GIO, said mere strict law was not enough. What we need to do is to reform the society on the basis of divine guidance. She demanded that since some movies and TV serials are promoting vulgarity and indecency in the society, the government should ban these immediately.
