Modi and Co. Must Be Prosecuted

Readers Pulse

Narendra Modi’s third term in Gujarat is not a new thing. Before him Sheila Dixit did it thrice in Delhi and Jyoti Basu won five consecutive elections in West Bengal. They both won in the name of communal harmony and secularism, while Narendra Modi won in the name of communal and divisive politics. India’s top capitalists and communalists were helpers and supporters of Modi and his parivar.

Two-judge bench of the Supreme Court, in a historic judgment on April 12, 2004, on anti-Muslim violence in 2002, said, “Those who indulge in violence in the name religion are more dangerous than the terrorists.” Just after the Gujarat carnage and genocide a nine-member high level tribunal of retired Supreme Court judges held Narendra Modi responsible for violence in Gujarat and massacre of two thousand Muslims, and said, “Narendra Modi is liable for prosecution for genocide.” National Human Rights Commission of India, Amnesty International, UK, etc., had condemned Modi’s ill deeds. Ex-Prime Minister AB Vajpayee had called Gujarat violence a blot on the fair name of India and a matter of national shame. He taught Modi “Raj Dharma.” Justice demands that Narendra Modi and his team of conspirators and criminals be prosecuted at the earliest.
