DELHI HAJ COMMITTEE FORMED AFTER HC NOTICE

Finally, the government of Delhi did form Delhi Haj Committee on 21 January after intervention of Delhi High Court. It has six members namely Member of Parliament, Parvez Hashmi, Assembly Members Chaudhry Mateen Ahmad and Hasan Ahmad, Municipal Councillor, Shoeb Danish and social workers Dr. Parvez Miyan and Abdul Hannan Qasmi. The chairman will be elected from among the members within 45 days. This is the first time Delhi is going to have its Haj Committee since the new Haj Act came into force in 2002.
