What to Do When Police Run Riot?

Readers Pulse

It was sad to hear that once again the police connived with the rioters and led the mob to inflict maximum damage to the Muslims. The report titled ‘It was a ‘Planned’ Riot, Police ‘Connived with Rioters’ (Radiance Viewsweekly, 27 January – 2 February) gave a telling experience of what exactly happened at Dhule. The fact that the police fired at the Muslims to drive them away so that the Hindu mob could get a free hand at looting the houses was disturbing. What is more disturbing is that people are getting more and more acclimatised to the happenings. Earlier people at least used to express shock at such incidences, however now people take it so casually and say what is the big deal, it happens everywhere. One must do something before it becomes an accepted norm.
