ACQUITTAL IS NOT A PROOF OF INNOCENCE: HC

The Delhi High Court, on 29 April, ruled that acquittal of a person in a criminal case is not a certificate of his innocence and it does not necessarily imply that he is innocent and can be considered for a state government job or be recruited in the police force. The court suggested the employers to check as to under which circumstances the person was acquitted: Was it a false case? Was it a case of no evidence? Were witnesses influenced?
