RECEPTION CEREMONY TURNED INTO BLOOD DONATION CAMP

Inside India

A newly wedded couple in Odisha, Suvendu Kumar Pratap and Suchitra Jena, took an exemplary step at their reception ceremony by turning the event into a blood donation camp. The couple donated blood at their reception encouraging their relatives and friends to follow the suit. “My father encouraged me to go ahead with this noble mission. Some of my family members were initially hesitant. But when my wife and I came forward for the purpose, the reluctant family members joined us,” Suvendu said. After donating her blood, the bride Suchitra said, “This was the first time I have donated blood. I was awed. But I felt relieved after donating blood. It will save someone’s life.”
