CONTROVERSIES END ON WAQF BILL

Inside India

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board, in a recent meeting in the national capital, has decided not to stick with its controversial idea of selling out Waqf properties which relatively generate low funds. Thus the Waqf Bill 2010 (amendment) is likely to be tabled in Manson Session of the Parliament which is to be started from 5 August. In a post-meeting talk with media persons, Dr. Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas said the Board has deleted the controversial point and thus paved the way for the same to be tabled in the coming session.
