Improve the Get-up

The first glance of Radiance Viewsweekly (19-25 August 2007) overwhelmed me. But all the smile on my face soon faded away as I noticed the words SPECIAL ISSUE super-scribed on the title cover of the magazine. Why not bring the regular issues of the Radiance in this get-up even if it means an increase in its cost.

The features and articles brought in this issue are all worth reading and the Special Issue as a whole worth preserving.

I read with special interest the interview of Maulana Abdul Azeez, President, Movement for Peace and Justice given to Ayesha Ameer.

The report of a workshop on Career Guidance organised by Human Welfare Trust, New Delhi, in Kerala is very encouraging. Career guidance for Muslim youth is the need of the hour. Today most students do not know which course to adopt and where to go for a specific course, which and where are the institutes of repute for professional courses, how to get admissions there. They also need names and addresses of various organisations offering scholarships or financial support to weak and meritorious scholars pursuing professional courses in the field of Engineering and Technology or Medicine.

There are professional courses offered by various institutes in the form of regular or distant diploma or certificate courses which can be opted by even average students. They can do these diploma or certificate courses and earn handsome livelihood. The need is to guide them at the proper time and help them get admitted in these courses. Such career guidance centres be established in all district headquarters.
