FOUR MUSLIMS ENTER DANISH PARLIAMENT
 
Four Danish Muslims of immigrant roots, including two women, won seats in the new Danish parliament, one seat more than what Muslims had in the outgoing legislature. Naser Khader, the leader of the nascent New Alliance party, kept his seat in the 179-member parliament. Khader, 44, came to Denmark when he was 11 and enjoys a pop star status and political charisma. EU WARNS KOSOVO OVER INDEPENDENCE
 
EU ministers meeting in the Belgian capital Brussels on November 19 warned Kosovo against any unilateral declaration of independence following weekend elections that revived local hopes of seceding from Belgrade. “Kosovo should have her independence (but) it shouldn’t be an unmanaged unilateral declaration,” Britain’s European Affairs Minister Jim Murphy reportedly said. After several Muslim girls were banned from playing with their football teams for donning hijab, the controversy was spreading to a new sport after 11-year-old girl was thrown out from a national judo tournament, reports said on November 18. “He said that I can’t fight.
