It is heartening to learn (Radiance, 13-19 January) that a young and energetic person, Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan has assumed the prestigious post of All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat’s president. Indian Muslims expect very energetic and enlightening guidance from AIMMM. We wish Dr. Khan Godspeed and all success.

It makes us a little bit sad that veteran parliamentarian and fearless fighter for the rights of Indian Muslims, Syed Shahabuddin has retired from Majlis-e-Mushawarat. He should have been leading the Mushawarat for some more years with his God-given qualities of leadership.
