MUSLIM BODIES DEMAND TASLIMA'S EXPULSION

Inside India

A number of Muslim organisations have asked the Union government not to extend the visa of controversial Bangladeshi writer, Taslima Nasreen. They have decided to call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, seeking stern action against her for hurting the sentiments of millions of Indian Muslims.
In a meeting held at the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, attended by the leaders of different Muslim organisations, including Jamiat Ulam-e-Hind, All India Muslim Majlis Mushawarat, Jamiat Ahle Hadees, Tehreek Himayat-ul-Islam, the Muslim leaders said Taslima had no right to stay in India. Taslima has shown disrespect to the country and she is dangerous for humanity. She has been consistently writing against different religions in India.
Some other organisations whose representatives could not participate in the meeting have also expressed their support to the demand.
This was the first time since Taslima’s ouster from Kolkata that the representative Muslim organisations jointly expressed their stand on this contentious issue.
